Most of the commercial companies also offer stripped down version’s of their plugin’s to give you a feel for the pro version and hopefully entice you to buy at a later date. There are some great mini bundle’s with some really powerful tool’s and you can easily put a nice set up together covering just about every audio task you can think of. The lion’s share are on the Window’s platform with about one in a hundred being Mac compatible.
Another great source of free samples and effects is some of the monthly music magazines. Computer Music Magazine and Future Music are two publications that release free packs and sound’s with new content from different producer’s each month.
